Description

• MAXXIS FOREKASTER: Redesigned from the ground up in 2022, the Forekaster is tailor- made for mid-travel (120mm-140mm) trail bikes. Slotting in between our XC and gravity treads, the Forekaster is light, fast and grippy.
• 3C MAXXTERRA: An intermediate triple compound configuration used across our mountain tire line. The 3C MaxxTerra compound offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip, which makes it ideal for trail riding in all conditions.
• EXO: A cut and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of many of our gravel and MTB tires. Suitable for use in a wide range of riding applications from gravel to XC to light trail duty.
• E25: Tires with an E25 rating are suitable for light duty e-bikes with assistance up to a maximum of 16.1 MPH.
• WIDE TRAIL: Optimizes the tires tread layout and profile to match todays modern, wider rims. Maxxis offers WT tires for everything from XC to gravity applications. A 30mm internal width rim is ideal for most applications, but WT tires can be used on rims ranging from 19mm to 35mm internal.

While the original Forekaster was designed as an option by XC in wet conditions, the new version caters exactly to modern low-excursion trail bikes (100mm-130mm), that is, for the "downcountry" segment. The new Forekaster runs fast, but also provides solid traction when cornering and braking in a wide range of track conditions. It fits into the Maxxis MTB range among our XC options, which prioritize rolling speed (Aspen, Rekon Race, Ikon, Rekon) and our gravity treads (Dissector, Minion DHF, Minion DHR, Assegai), which emphasize traction when cornering and braking. The new Forekaster is the perfect choice for long cycling on a wide variety of terrain.
